What kind of potatoes to use?

Potatoes available in your kitchen, it can be Red potatoes, Gold Potatoes, Russet potatoes.

According to your preference you can choose the kind of potatoes for the recipe.

But today I’m using Russet potato and remember you should try to pick similar size of potatoes to cook evenly.

Preparing your potatoes for grill:

Wash potatoes, pat dry and pierce it with the help of fork then coat it with olive oil or any oil you have.

Pour 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a large mixing bowl and coat the potatoes all together flipping over the oil till potatoes are evenly coated.

Then transfer the oil rubbed potatoes on a plate, start coating potatoes with salt, pepper evenly.

Wrap the potatoes in the aluminum foil properly making sure potatoes are not exposed.

You can also use double aluminum foil if needed.

Place directly in the drill and close the lid. Cook for about 30-40 minutes until it is fully cooked.

Remove from the grill, unwrap the foil , keep it aside if you want to use it again.

Cut potato from the middle and squeeze it from both the ends to get the fluffy potato or scrape flesh with a fork.

Serve it with desired topping!

Tips for Baked Potato on Grill

Pre heating your grill is important part of any grill recipe.

Heat the grill in about 350F/ 175C for about 15 minutes before placing the potatoes.

Coat the potatoes in oil, salt and pepper for extra crisp.

If you want your potatoes to cook faster, pierce the potatoes all over with a fork, which allows flavor into potato. and microwave them on high before grill for 4-5 minutes.

Try and keep the lid closed of the grill while cooking the potatoes if possible.

Select the equal size potatoes to cook evenly.

Double wrap your potatoes with aluminum foil making sure no potato is exposed to burn and to preserve the moist.

Ingredients:

3tablespoons olive oil /avocado oil/ neutral oil

2 tablespoon Salt for coating

4medium Russet potatoes even in size

2 tablespoon Pepper for coating

Direction for making Baked Potato in Grill:

Pre-heat grill in 350F/175C degree.

Cut 8 sheets of aluminum foil to wrap the potatoes as we are double wrapping each of it.

Wash potatoes, pat dry and pierce all over with fork.

Coat potatoes evenly with 3 tablespoon of olive oil, 2 tablespoon salt and 2 tablespoon pepper evenly.

You can double wrap potatoes in aluminum foil making sure it is not exposed to burn.

Place the potato on grill for 30-40 minutes and close the lid. Flip the potato in every 10 minutes to cook evenly.

Potatoes are done if skewer is easily pierced with through without opposing.

Slice it from the middle and gently press the potato for fluffiness and serve with desired toppings, you can refer above for toping ideas.
